About me

Since I was a little girl, I have had a particular fascination with small shops. Not necessarily the prettiest or most aesthetically pleasing ones, but those that surprise me and transport me into a unique universe. I especially remember a toy and game shop in my hometown in Normandy, France, run by a craftsman-shopkeeper. Nothing was really in order; toys were scattered everywhere, but the atmosphere was magical. The place had a soul. The smell of wood, the soft light, the spaces where you could try out the games… Everything was designed to immerse you and let you experience something special.

This unique alchemy left a lasting impression on me. With each visit, new discoveries awaited, and this shop became a must-visit during our family outings. As I grew older, I sought to find this magic elsewhere. While some visit museums or monuments, I visit shops. Places where passionate creators translate their vision of the world, their commitments, and their DNA into immersive spaces. I discover entrepreneurs who build trusting relationships with their customers, and places where you don’t just buy things, but where you have an experience and leave feeling inspired.

In 2017, I wanted to delve deeper into this passion for unique shops by launching a blog, The Concept Stories. I shared my discoveries and encounters with founders of independent concept stores across Europe. At the same time, my work as a retail marketing consultant allowed me to see how these niche concepts influence major players in the industry.

Today, The Concept Stories has evolved into a dedicated media platform for places and creators redefining the in-store experience. Here, you will find reports on carefully curated concepts, portraits of visionary entrepreneurs, and inspiration for a more human and immersive approach to retail.

Welcome to my world. ✨
